Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.

These include:

  • uniforms

  • school books and equipment

  • excursions

  • co-curricular activities.

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit theĀ Voluntary School Contribution policy.

Like most schools in NSW, Canterbury Public School asks parents to make an annual school contribution. This covers general stores used within the classroom, photocopying and printing and library resources. We spend around $30,000 on stores a year and $25,000 on photocopying and printing.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.

If your family faces financial difficulties that make payment of school fees, music fees and or excursions problematic, please phone the principal for a confidential discussion to help find a workable solution.

The Smith Family provide ongoing assistance for individual students through their sponsorship programs. You can contact them via telephone by calling 02 9085 7222.
