About us
Canterbury Public School is a NSW government school teaching Kindergarten to Year 6 students.
Our school serves a diverse community consisting of 398 students from 35 different cultural backgrounds. The school prides itself on being small enough to know and value every student and family, yet large enough to provide a full range of quality learning programs and resources.
Canterbury Public School was first established in 1878 and features heritage buildings set in spacious grounds which provide students with a range of play environments. The school has extensive classroom space equipped with modern learning and teaching resources and wifi throughout the school.
The adjacent local high schools enable strong links and continuity of schooling.
Our school strives for excellence and equity and aims to equip students with the skills necessary to achieve their full potential. Teaching and learning programs focus on developing competencies in critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, cooperation, citizenship and social justice. Emphasis is placed on student wellbeing, personalised learning and strong parent partnerships.
